A Midjourney image is a pixel image, so printing it as a logo on shirts, stickers or vinyl usually means turning it into vector shapes, and Midjourney’s documentation describes pixel images only. Flat shapes and lettering convert cleanly, while shading, grain and texture have to be simplified. What Midjourney’s own documentation says about your file
We read Midjourney’s documentation in October 2026. It describes version 8.2.
Pixels, not print resolution. At the default square shape, “Midjourney version 8.2 creates HD images that are 2048 x 2048 pixels (px) and SD images that are 1024 x 1024px.” The Upscalers page says the Creative and Subtle upscalers take SD images to 2048 x 2048 px, and that HD images “currently cannot be upscaled further.” Other shapes change the numbers: a 2:3 image is 896 x 1344 px as SD and 1792 x 2688 px upscaled or HD.
The 72 is just a label. The documentation says that when you open a Midjourney image in Photoshop, “the resolution will probably be 72.” That is a tag in the file. What your printer cares about is how many pixels cover each inch of the finished print.
Midjourney gives its own print size. It says “with an HD 2048 x 2048px image from Midjourney, you can produce a good quality 6.8 inch by 6.8 inch print (2048 pixels divided by 300 DPI equals 6.8 inches).” For a bigger print it suggests lowering the DPI or using a third-party upscaler. For a 10 in print, 2048 px works out to about 205 pixels per inch. Screen printers publish minimums of 200 to 300, and sticker shops usually ask for 300. See why printers need vector files.
Creative upscale changes the picture. The documentation says “if you choose the Creative upscaler, it will change your image a bit as it adds new details.” If you picked a logo at one size and then upscaled it with Creative, check that the shapes and lettering are still what you chose. Subtle is described as keeping changes to a minimum.
Text is best-effort. The documentation says text works best “with the standard Latin alphabet” and short words, and that if the text isn’t right you can try Raw, lower the Stylize value, or use the Editor or Vary Region “to fix minor glitches.” For print, read every letter at 400% zoom before you spend anything on it. A printer will print exactly what the file shows.
The pages we read describe pixel images. They don’t mention vector output.
Two checks that decide how this goes
Is it flat or shaded? Zoom to 200%. If the logo is made of solid color areas with clean edges, it will convert like a normal logo. If you see gradients, brush grain, glow, metallic shine or fine hatching, the vector has to rebuild those as shapes and tone layers. That is a Gradient & complex or Detailed illustration job, and the price is shown when you upload.
How many inks will it need? A screen printer counts inks, and one shop in our research says it prints “up to 6 different spot colors.” Shading multiplies the colors. A flat redraw uses a fixed set.
What detailed Midjourney images become in vector
Vector artwork is built from clean shapes, which is what lets it scale to any size and print crisply on any press. Very fine textures such as pencil grain or engraved shading are translated into line work and tone layers, so the finest grain is simplified rather than copied pixel for pixel. We deliver two versions and preselect the one that suits your print method:
- Clean vector. Every part as editable shapes. Best for screen printing, vinyl, laser, embroidery artwork and foil.
- Vector + texture layer. The same shapes with a high-resolution texture layer that keeps the original look. Best for full-color printing, labels and packaging.
You see your finished proof before any credits are charged. If it isn’t right for you, cancel and your held credits are released.
What you get from us
- Rebuilt shapes with fewer, cleaner curves, not a copy of every pixel.
- Corrected mistakes, listed in your delivery note.
- Named groups. Your lettering is redrawn as shapes, exactly as it looks in your image. If a close open-source font exists, a separate editable text layer is added for typing new words later, and the note says it is not an exact match.
- Files built for your print method and a one-page print report. Anything we can’t verify is marked “check with your printer”.
- Editable source files (AI, SVG, PDF) and PNG, all included at no extra charge.
| Your image | Tier | Price | New customer, first order |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flat logo or wordmark | Flat logo & wordmark | 19 credits ($19) | 10 credits ($10) |
| Badge or mascot | Badge & mascot | 29 credits ($29) | 15 credits ($15) |
| Gradients or many parts | Gradient & complex | 39 credits ($39) | 20 credits ($20) |
| Fine texture or engraved shading | Detailed illustration | 59–79 credits ($59–79), quoted when you upload | Not included |
The hardest part of the image sets the price, and it’s shown when you upload. Credits cost $1 each, or pay $45 for 50 credits and $85 for 100. No PayPal account needed — pay with any card.
When we can’t do what you want
- A picture that must stay photographic. A vector can’t hold a photograph. You choose: Line art or a Flat illustration (4–8 colors), or a print-ready bitmap with the text and graphics redrawn around it.
- Exact grain, pixel for pixel. We simplify the finest texture, as above. If you need the exact grain, the texture-layer version keeps it as a bitmap layer.
- A small file. If your image is too small to rebuild well, the upload check says so before you order.
- Someone else’s logo. We don’t take orders that obviously copy a well-known brand’s logo or wordmark.
- Rights you don’t have. You confirm you have the right to use the image, and any person in it.
- Things only your printer knows, like bleed. The report says “check with your printer”.
