There are three common ways to get a print-ready vector from an AI logo: an auto-tracing tool, a freelancer, or your print shop’s art department. Auto-tracing is the fastest, and a marketplace listing can be the cheapest per job. We cost more than the cheapest listing, and for that you get files built for your print method, a one-page print report, a proof before you pay, and free fixes if the printer sends the file back.
Run free print check · You only pay once you approve the proof
Two ways this usually goes
The usual way
- Run the PNG through an auto-tracer. The tool we looked at charges from about $10 a month to download.
- Send it to the printer. The printer says it needs spot colors, outlined text and a cut line.
- Pay a print-shop art fee, or find a freelancer. Print shops that publish a rate charge $35 to $75 per hour. Marketplace listings we read were $5 to $60 per job, 1 to 5 days, with messages back and forth.
With Dreality
- Upload once and pick how you’ll print.
- See the price before you order: $19, $29 or $39 per image, from $59 for a detailed illustration. New customers pay 10 to 20 credits ($10 to $20) on a first order.
- Get files built and checked for that print method. Your first proof arrives within 24 hours, and you pay only when you approve it.
Prices on the left are published rates, read on October 28, 2026. They change, and some shops publish no rate at all.

| How you order | Instant upload | Order a listing or post a job, then message back and forth | Through your print order | Instant upload, price shown first |
| Price | From about $10 a month; downloads need a subscription | $5–60 per job | $35–75 per hour where a rate is published; one promo shop lists an average of $20 per job; some quote on request | $19 / $29 / $39 per image; from $59 for a detailed illustration; first order 10–20 credits ($10–20) |
| What you receive | A traced file in the export formats offered | A traced file; formats depend on the package | The file their press needs, usually kept by the shop | Source files and all formats, logo variants, a color table, a one-page print report and a delivery note |
| Source files | SVG, PDF, EPS, DXF and PNG downloads with a subscription | Most listings we read name AI, EPS, PDF or SVG, even at the lowest price | Not stated on the pages we read | AI, SVG, PDF and PNG, all included — no extra charge |
| Delivery time | Seconds | 1–5 days in the listings we read | Follows your print order | First proof within 24 hours |
| Warranty | No fix service that we found; you run it again yourself | Revisions depend on the package: from 2 to unlimited in the listings we read | Follows your print order | Two proof rounds before you pay. Free fixes for 7 days after delivery. If your printer rejects the file within 30 days, we fix it free |

| Named groups and lettering | In our test, one unnamed group, with text turned into shapes | Rarely stated; one of the seven listings we read says layered files | Not stated | Named groups; lettering redrawn as shapes, plus a separate editable text layer when a close open-source font exists |
| Will a printer take it? | Not checked against any printer’s rules | None of the seven listings mention spot colors, cut lines or bleed | Yes, for their own shop | Built for the print method and checked in a report. We can’t promise any printer will accept it, which is why the 30-day fix exists |
| What you see before paying | A free preview | Portfolio samples; you pay, then review the delivery | A quote, sometimes a proof | A proof of your own image. Credits are charged only when you approve it |

Where the other ways win
- Speed. An auto-tracer gives you a result in seconds. Our first proof takes up to 24 hours.
- Cost for simple jobs. A one-color logo with clean shapes can be traced for the price of a monthly subscription or a $5 listing. If your printer takes the result, that is the better deal.
- Free preview. Auto-tracing tools show you the result before you pay. So do we, but the proof is made to order.
- Convenience. If a print shop is going to fix the file anyway and quotes a small fee, ask for the price. One promo shop lists an average art charge of $20.
- Your printer’s PNG rules. If your printer takes a 300 ppi PNG, you don’t need a vector at all. See when a PNG is fine for printing.
Where we’re different
We fix what the AI got wrong. Wobbly symmetry, broken lines, made-up letters and lopsided shapes are corrected. A tracer copies them.
We build for your print method. Spot colors for screen printing, a named cut line for stickers, closed paths for Cricut and lasers. The report marks what we can’t verify as “check with your printer”.
You can see what changed. Every order has a delivery note that lists the fixes.
You pay after you see it. Credits are held when you submit and charged when you approve the proof.
Same image, side by side
On one badge, an open-source tracer at default settings made 7,978 anchor points in 836 paths. Our redraw has 731 anchor points in 9 paths. Same input for both. This is one badge, and the number says nothing about quality by itself. What it shows is how much a printer, a cutter or an editor has to deal with. On a very simple flat logo, the two can come out close. The gap shows on badges, mascots and gradients.
How to read these numbers
- Print-shop rates come from the shops’ own artwork pages: Acclaim Screen Printing and Screen Designs Inc ($35 per hour), Maine Printing and Embroidery ($45 per hour, $15 minimum), Black Sheep Design Company ($40 per hour), IGG Screen Printing ($50–75 per hour), ImprintItems (an average art charge of $20). Links are under Sources below, and read dates are in October 2026.
- Marketplace figures come from seven listings we read on October 28, 2026. We don’t link them, because we compare categories rather than people.
- Our prices are the prices on this site. There are no crossed-out prices and no “was” prices.
